  • OpenAI has introduced a new AI model, GPT-4o, and a desktop version of ChatGPT with an enhanced user interface. The update, which extends GPT-4’s capabilities to all users, including free accounts, was announced by CTO Mira Murati. GPT-4o boasts significant improvements in speed and performance across text, video, and audio. This release marks one of OpenAI’s most significant updates since the launch of ChatGPT Enterprise and reflects the ongoing generative AI race among tech giants.

  • Anthropic, a leading generative AI company and rival to OpenAI, has announced its expansion into Europe and is in the process of raising additional capital. The company’s AI assistant, Claude, is now live in Europe with support for multiple languages, including French, German, Italian, and Spanish, available through its website, iOS app, and business plan for teams.

  • Google Search will now provide AI-generated responses directly to user queries instead of listing websites. This shift aims to enhance the search experience but also raises concerns about the reliability of AI chatbots and the potential decrease in web traffic for content creators across the internet

  • The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has unveiled a new open-source generative AI model called Falcon 2, developed by Abu Dhabi’s Technology Innovation Institute (TII). This model is expected to compete with major tech companies’ AI models
