• Microsoft has announced the second wave of Microsoft 365 Copilot, introducing several new features and improvements. Additionally, Copilot agents are being introduced to automate and streamline business processes, enhancing productivity across Microsoft 365 apps

• Slack is integrating AI-powered agents from Salesforce, Adobe, Anthropic, Cohere, and Perplexity into its platform, aiming to create a more dynamic workspace where humans and bots can collaborate seamlessly. Announced ahead of Salesforce’s Dreamforce conference, these new features include enhanced AI capabilities like video chat transcripts and improved automation tools.

• OpenAI has announced the formation of an independent board oversight committee focused on safety and security. This committee, chaired by Zico Kolter from Carnegie Mellon University, includes notable members like Adam D’Angelo, Paul Nakasone, and Nicole Seligman. The committee will oversee OpenAI’s safety processes and model deployments, ensuring transparency and collaboration with external organizations.

• ByteDance, the parent company of TikTok, is collaborating with Broadcom to develop a 5-nanometer AI chip, which will be manufactured by Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC). This move aims to secure a stable supply of high-end chips amid ongoing U.S.-China tensions.
