Intel, along with organizations like Cloudera and others, has committed to developing open generative AI tools for the enterprise. The Linux Foundation has launched the Open Platform for Enterprise AI (OPEA), aiming to create modular and scalable generative AI systems. These systems will harness open source innovation from across the ecosystem, enabling possibilities such as optimized support for AI toolchains, compilers, and heterogeneous pipelines for retrieval-augmented generation (RAG).
Baidu, the Chinese technology giant, claims that its Ernie Bot has outperformed OpenAI’s ChatGPT and GPT-4 in several key areas and has amassed over 100 million users. Ernie 3.5, the latest iteration of Baidu’s foundational AI model, surpassed ChatGPT in benchmark tests related to standard admission and qualification exams. While Ernie 3.5 excelled in Chinese language tests, it lagged behind GPT-4 in English. The intense competition in generative AI between U.S. and Chinese tech giants continues to drive advancements in this field.
Amazon Music has introduced a new feature called Maestro, an AI playlist generator currently in beta. Available to a subset of U.S. customers on iOS and Android, Maestro simplifies playlist creation. Users provide a prompt idea—whether short, long, or even using emojis—and Maestro generates personalized playlists.
