• As India heads to the polls, an intriguing development emerges: an A.I.-generated version of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has surfaced on WhatsApp. In a demo clip, this digital avatar directly addresses voters by name, showcasing the potential for hyperpersonalized outreach in a country with nearly a billion voters. These messages can be automatically generated in any of India’s numerous languages, tailoring communication to individual voters

• Meta, the parent company of Facebook, has introduced its free artificial intelligence assistant, Meta AI, across its social media platforms including WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook, and Messenger. This versatile assistant can answer questions, create animations, and generate high-quality images. It is built on Meta Llama 3, the company’s latest large language model.

• Hugging Face, in collaboration with Open Life Science AI and the University of Edinburgh’s Natural Language Processing Group, has introduced a benchmark test called Open Medical-LLM. This benchmark evaluates the performance of generative AI models in healthcare. It stitches together existing test sets related to medical knowledge, anatomy, pharmacology, genetics, and clinical practice.

• Foley Family Farms, has more than 5,200 acres of vineyards across California and Oregon. To manage water requirements efficiently, she relies on AI technology. Sensors placed throughout the vineyards collect data on moisture levels, temperatures, and other environmental variables. Tule Technologies’ AI software processes this data, calculating irrigation needs and notifying vineyard managers via an app. The result - Improved grape quality and consistency.
