• Nvidia has introduced the Blackwell platform, a groundbreaking advancement in computing. This platform empowers organizations to create and deploy real-time generative AI using trillion-parameter large language models. The Blackwell GPU architecture incorporates six transformative technologies, enabling breakthroughs in data processing, engineering simulation, electronic design automation, computer-aided drug design, quantum computing, and generative AI.

• Nvidia is strengthening its partnerships with Chinese automakers, including BYD, in the race to develop self-driving vehicles and AI-augmented infotainment technology for global markets. BYD, which surpassed Tesla as the world’s top electric vehicle manufacturer last year, will utilize Nvidia’s next-generation in-vehicle chips called Drive Thor to enhance autonomous driving capabilities and other digital functions.

• Nvidia and Johnson & Johnson (J&J) have joined forces to advance artificial intelligence (AI) applications in surgery. J&J’s MedTech unit, which supports technology used in over 75 million procedures annually, is collaborating with Nvidia to integrate AI across the surgical process. From pre-op to post-op, this partnership aims to provide surgeons with comprehensive information.

• Apple is currently in negotiations with Google to license their Gemini model for enhancing iPhone AI features. This potential integration could bring cloud-based AI capabilities to Apple’s smartphone, including image creation and essay writing based on simple prompts. While the terms and branding of the agreement are yet to be finalized, this move could significantly impact the AI industry, given Apple’s massive user base of over 2 billion active devices worldwide.
