• Amazon’s cloud unit has teamed up with artificial intelligence startup Hugging Face to facilitate running thousands of AI models on Amazon’s custom computing chips. Hugging Face, serves as a central hub for AI researchers and developers to share chatbots and other AI software.

• Alibaba Cloud, China’s largest cloud computing service provider, has significantly reduced fees for using its generative artificial intelligence (AI) models by up to 97%. This move comes in response to a price war triggered by ByteDance’s low-cost rival service. Baidu has also made two of its lighter language models available for free.

• Microsoft’s new AI-powered computer history feature, Recall, has faced criticism from PC users for its resemblance to the dystopian show “Black Mirror.” However, it’s not just critics who are concerned. The UK’s Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) is now investigating this feature. Recall captures screenshots of users’ entire computer activity in the background, creating a searchable index using AI.

• News Corp., the multinational news publisher, revealed that it will permit OpenAI to display its news content in ChatGPT when users inquire, joining other news organizations in partnering with the rapidly expanding AI company.
