• Oregon Right to Repair legislation, known as SB1596, seeks to ensure the right to repair for Oregonians. It would require manufacturers to provide necessary repair materials to independent repair shops and device owners. Additionally, it aims to ban the practice of “parts pairing”, which manufacturers sometimes use to block third-party repairs.

• DataCebo, an MIT spinout, has developed a generative AI system called the Synthetic Data Vault (SDV). This system helps organizations create synthetic data for purposes such as software testing and training machine learning models. By generating realistic synthetic data, SDV enables more effective patient treatment, flight rerouting, and software platform improvement, especially in scenarios where real-world data are limited or sensitive.

• Accenture has announced its acquisition of Udacity, a learning platform, as part of an initiative to create a specialized learning platform centered around the growing interest in artificial intelligence (AI). Accenture also revealed a significant investment of $1 billion in building a technology learning platform called LearnVantage.
