• Department of Justice (DOJ) has filed an antitrust lawsuit against Apple, alleging that the tech giant holds a monopoly over the phone market through its iPhone ecosystem. According to prosecutors, this monopoly has negatively impacted consumers, developers, and rival companies. The lawsuit challenges Apple’s walled-garden model, which encompasses not only iPhones but also extends to other services like Apple Watch, Apple Pay, and more.

• United Nations General Assembly has unanimously adopted the first global resolution on artificial intelligence (AI). This landmark resolution aims to promote the protection of personal data, monitor AI for risks, and safeguard human rights. It emphasizes the need for safe, secure, and trustworthy AI while bridging the digital divide among nations.

• Tennessee has become the first U.S. state to enact a law safeguarding musicians and artists from unauthorized use by artificial intelligence. Governor Bill Lee signed the Ensuring Likeness Voice and Image Security (ELVIS) Act, which extends protections to songwriters, performers, and music industry professionals.

• Microsoft is gearing up to launch its next-gen AI-focused devices: the Surface Pro 10 and Surface Laptop 6. Notably, both the Surface Pro and Surface Laptop will be available in Intel and Arm flavors, with an emphasis on Arm variants powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X Series chips. These devices, internally referred to as “CADMUS” PCs, are purpose-built for the upcoming version of Windows.
