  • OpenAI has introduced GPT-4.5, their largest and most advanced AI model to date. This new model, codenamed Orion, is designed to enhance pattern recognition, draw connections, and generate creative insights without reasoning. GPT-4.5 aims to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of AI applications by scaling up pretraining and post-training processes.

  • Tencent has unveiled its latest AI model, Hunyuan Turbo S, which it claims can respond to queries faster than the widely acclaimed DeepSeek-R1. The new model is designed to provide answers within a second, distinguishing itself from other "slow thinking" models. Tencent also highlighted that the Turbo S model's capabilities in knowledge, math, and reasoning match those of DeepSeek-V3.

  • You.com has launched ARI, the world's first professional-grade research agent for business. ARI can produce comprehensive research reports in just five minutes by analyzing over 400 sources simultaneously. This new AI tool aims to transform the $250 billion management consulting industry by providing accurate, verified insights and interactive visualizations at a fraction of the cost and time typically required.

  • Microsoft is urging the Trump administration to revise the Biden-era AI chip export restrictions, which they argue are overly complex and could hinder U.S. leadership in AI technology. The AI Diffusion Rule, implemented in the final days of Biden's presidency, limits the export of AI chips to most countries, excluding a select few allies. Microsoft contends that these restrictions could push important U.S. allies to seek AI infrastructure and services elsewhere, potentially benefiting China's AI sector.

  • Microsoft's Digital Crimes Unit (DCU) is taking legal action against cybercriminals who exploit generative AI to create harmful content. The company has identified a foreign-based threat actor group that developed tools to bypass AI safety measures and generate offensive material. Microsoft has revoked access, implemented countermeasures, and enhanced safeguards to prevent future abuse.

  • Amazon Web Services (AWS) has introduced Ocelot, its first quantum computing chip, designed to significantly reduce the costs of quantum error correction by up to 90%. Developed in collaboration with the California Institute of Technology, Ocelot uses a novel architecture that incorporates "cat qubits" to enhance error resistance.
